Join us in February for the first CPDs for our group, where we will gather to work together to discuss the following issues -
NSW Fixed costs - what is covered, and what isn't covered? What can you charge for? Who is charging something on top of the fixed fees for the pre-Probate stage?
Grief & stress - how can we deal better with clients knowing that they are all, almost by definition, grieving and stressed?
BillWill - new tools for Estate Planning and administrative support
Requisitions - what are we seeing, some examples of requisitions and how people are dealing with them.
Calendar bookings - what system are you using? How do clients initially reach out to you? Which calendar booking system are you using now, and in the past, and why? Can you improve this first step for your clients?
War stories - we will also be working through and sharing some war stories, situations where an Estate was more difficult than it needed to be because of a Will, or the absence of a Will, to help you with your marketing or to better prepare your clients for potential future problems.
The idea is for us to work together, collect everyone's input and learn from each other. I will put all of the learnings together into a PDF book which will be circulated to all participants after both events have finished up. We will also have morning tea and lunch together, so that we have an opportunity to meet others who are doing this work everyday.
The cost is $145 per person, per event, but you will get a $50 discount code if you email a requisition from the Supreme Court in relation to an Estate matter, I will bundle them together and they will form part of the subject matter material available to participants. Email it to janis@janisconsults.com You can redact it or I can do that for you. Then I will send you the discount code and a survey for you to complete with further questions.
The Darlinghurst venue has limited seating (about 25 or 30 people) but the Penrith venue will be chosen based upon participant numbers, so if the Darlinghurst event is full then head over to the Penrith event. The online event will be recorded, and everyone who has bought a ticket for it will receive a copy of the recording (so if the dates don’t work for you, you can always just sign up for online).
This event is sponsored by BillWill. Colin Jowell will be one of our speakers, he is a behavioural scientist and the founder of BillWill, an innovative new digital letter of wishes that aims to save time, money, and heartache from life’s toughest moments. He will share the latest developments on the platform and behavioural insights on managing clients experiencing grief and stress. For more about BillWill click here: www.BillWill.com.au
You can find out more about the event by going into the Facebook Group, or you can register for the event by clicking on this link.
NSW Estate Lawyers Facebook Group
Did you know about the free Facebook Group? This is a group for NSW Estate Lawyers to discuss things that are particular to practising Estate law in this State. Here are some examples of things we might discuss -
(1) Does anyone have a list of local lawyers for XYZ suburb so I can send out a letter enquiring if they hold a Will?
(2) Does anybody have better contact details for ABC bank?
Of course more recently there is a lot of discussion about pragmatic issues with the new online system. We might also share the occasional post that only other lawyers who practice in this area will appreciate. The idea is to help and support each other, and share information that is helpful.
If you would like to join you can just search for “NSW Estate Lawyers” in groups on Facebook, please make sure that you answer the questions.
