Ironbark Drive Park, Cranebrook

During lock down we discovered Ironbark Drive Park in Cranebrook. This is a bright and relatively new park that seems to have options for a range of ages. There is also a large amount of park land surrounding the park, plenty of space for picnics, ball games, or even riding a bike around the footpath. My youngest likes to make me take a walk with her on the paths. If you go into the trees there are sometimes magpies in there.

The park includes the following:

  • Slides (a single slide and a double slide)

  • Cargo net climbing ropes

  • Monkey bars

  • Rock climbing wall

  • Swings, three swings being a toddler swing, a sling swing and a ‘nest’ type rope swing

  • A play café or bench under the main structure

  • A see saw

There is some shade cloth, though it never seems to hit the right parts of the park. There is an undercover picnic table and there are bins. As it is set on it’s own block it is surrounded by plenty of parking. My girls enjoyed taking sidewalk chalk and leaving some artwork on the chunks of rock that surround the park. A younger child could also ride their bike on the paths around this park.

The road surrounding it is not busy, it is only local traffic and people coming to the park. There are no bathrooms, and there certainly isn’t anything aimed at people with differing abilities, but on the whole this is a favourite park for my girls.

If you would like to comment on this post, it would be helpful if you indicated what age your children are, and whether they find this park has things for them to do.
